my life became 600% better when i started acting like a self obsessed piece of shit like 10/10 would recommend

even if u don’t actually genuinely love yourself its fuckin fun to act like you think you’re the human embodiment of perfection go on try it life’s too short to not fall in love with yourself

Sure, but don’t come complaining to me when no one wants to help you or have anything to do with you. I won’t be surprised and I certainly won’t help.

Remember that time that we all got really angry at some TIME journalist for writing that we were the “me generation,” and there were hundreds if not thousands of posts going around about what bullshit that was (which at the time I agreed with)? The more time I spend on this site and the more posts like this that I see, the more I think that guy might have been right. The life advice on this site seems to basically be a) Be self absorbed, b) Demand everyone coddle you, and c) Never do or deal with anything or anyone that makes you the slightest bit uncomfortable or is challenging. Like instead of aspiring to be something better, trying to improve your work ethic, and aiming to overcome puzzles and obstacles and toughen up, people aspire to have standards set low enough that they can accept their own mediocrity, wallow in self pity, and idealize being shaken.

If you don’t like yourself, that might be a sign to change. That’s how you grow, mature, and develop, and if you follow this advice you’re telling yourself to never do any of those things.
